Little Hoof Heaven Sanctuary began not with a plan, but with two extraordinary goats—Chiba and Chibo, Nigerian Dwarfs who quite literally crossed the Mexican border and wandered into our lives, capturing our hearts in a way we could never have anticipated. Their spirit, intelligence, and joy revealed something profound: they deserved a life as expansive and meaningful as the presence they brought with them.

What began as love for two remarkable beings quickly grew into a deeper calling. We realized that to truly honor them, we needed to create a space where they could thrive—leading us to seek out larger acreage and begin the journey of learning what it truly means to provide the best possible life for animals in our care.

Not long after, Aspen the Mustang joined us from the Segraves National Forest. Aspen made one thing clear from the beginning—he would accept nothing less than a relationship rooted in partnership. His presence reshaped our understanding of care, reinforcing the importance of trust, communication, and mutual respect.

Soon, the minis followed, bringing with them an unmistakable sense of joy. Their delight in open space and freedom of movement echoed the playful energy of our “dancing goats,” affirming that we were on the right path. Together, this founding herd became the heart of what is now Little Hoof Heaven—a sanctuary built on connection, freedom, and a commitment to honoring each animal as an individual.
